About Smitty:
Indiana “Two Dog” Smitty, a man of many names and aliases, is one dirty rotten son of a gun. He is also a trackside storyteller, Colts game prognosticator, E-bike-ride train leading, kiss stealing, sky diving, machine fixing, big tree climbing and cutting, nation serving, concrete working, landscaping, ToferTune event attendee. Perhaps more than anything though, an entertainer that is a philosophic individualist. A friendly nonconformist. Not radicalized or brainwashed politically right or left, but a maverick freethinker. He truly is a cornerstone of, and fits right in here at ToferTune.
Born near Madison in Southern Indiana to a driver and mechanic of stockcars, Smitty has long been an enthusiast of motor sports of all forms, including motorcycle and hydroplane. At the age of eleven he moved to Lawrence where he went on to graduate high school. Soon after he chose to serve his country as a Screaming Eagle skydiving out of C130’s on more than a hundred occasions.
For the past 15 years he has resided in Speedway. Typical of a free thinking talented nonconformist, he has called numerous places home and made a living at all manner of avocation and business. One constant throughout his entire life though, has been his attendance to various events at the Brickyard, Kitley Speedrome, IRP, the Indiana Fairgrounds, and the Madison Regatta.

E-BIKE RIDES
Among the many things Two Dawg is known for, he is also an E-bike-ride train leader. Currently living almost adjacent to the B&O trail in Speedway, Ole Smitty can be regularly seen riding the Indy trail system. Drop ToferTune an Email to learn of his upcoming scheduled rides.

THE ANCIENT LIMBO ROOT BONE:

Smitty holds high his magical mystical Ancient Limbo Root Bone
(AKA The Mother of All Limbo Sticks).
THE ROOT BONE:
Just what is this thing?
The ancient limbo root bone. The much ballyhooed mother of all limbo sticks. What is it you may ask? Is it wood? Is it bone? Is it fossil? Is it stone? Opinions certainly do seem to vary, even by many with ostensibly extensive knowledge of such things. Smitty himself, however, remains detached, even rather cagey or guarded regarding the topic. He does, though, relay that he himself unearthed it decades ago sometime in the mid 1970’s, near a then active archeological or paleontological dig site near Madison, on the good side of the river.
Said by many to provide The Speedway Sorcerer with seemingly special powers or even supernatural abilities, the fossil has been banned from The Brickyard for many years now. Some say the ban was consequential of several curious race result altering phenomena of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s that were associated with the sticks presence. Others, scoffing at such thoughts as nonsense, have never been able to disprove the astonishing occurrences witnessed by innumerable race-goers and others alike. There most certainly is something special about The Hoosier Hillbilly when he wields the Ancient Limbo Root Bone.
Though banned from The Brickyard, the magical mystical fossil stone can still be experienced with the Snakepit Trickster at other Naptown venues and in the parking lot activities on nights before the big races. Can you pass under the spell of this fossil? How low can you go? Expect no pity from Smitty.
Of note perhaps most to skeptics, in October of 2024, the root bone survived an enormous fire that almost completely destroyed Smitty’s several story apartment building. Many first floor units, including Smitty’s, were utterly devastated not just from the flames, but from falling structural and other items from the floors above. Water damage finished what was left. All of Smitty’s personal items were destroyed, including his ToferTune tailcoat tux and checkered-flag cummerbund (autographed by dozens of celebrities and drivers), and his genuine Leon Leather (https://leonleather.com) full length trench coat that Smitty himself designed.
Fortunately, that evening, the slumbering Smitty was awakened by his trusted canine companion Rex and was able to hastily escape the inferno with Rex and his Leon Leather top hat (which was hanging on the door knob out of his unit into the common hallway that lead to safety). That fateful evening, his dog, top hat, and the clothes on his back, he thought, then constituted the entirety of his worldly possessions.
The Hoosier Hillbilly assumed his longtime mysteriously sorcerous limbo amulet was destroyed and lost forever. However, weeks afterwards, maybe answering a call from on high, one evening he felt a summoning to revisit the site of his former apartment. It just so happened that demo crews left several dumpsters of the structures debris. Astonishingly, there it was. Right at the top of a heap of charred rubbish and broken remains completely unscathed! Some claim this as testament to the fossils metaphysical energy.
All limbo sticks, each and everyone, be they post or prior, are without question subject to this Smitty fossil. Make no mistake, there is something to this thing. Like a Genie in a bottle, like the cards turning up just right, there is definitely something to this piece of calcified wood or time-organically altered bone.
